Cheers for the response all. I’ll be in Egypt for about 2 weeks before moving down to Sudan and on and on. I’m not worried about Egypt, but hoping to pick up my malaria tablets there and use the time to get the medication in my system.

you can buy the malaria pills over the counter, and I think you have to take some before you go, to get into your system.I wouldn’t risk going to Africa, without already have some in my bag just incase! hope you have a lovely time.
You can buy most drugs over the counter in Egypt that you would otherwise need a prescription for in the U.K.
I would not wait until you arrive at your destination to purchase such drugs. Egypt is relatively safe but i am not sure about other parts of Africa. Therefore, if you are going to take anti-malaria medication you must start at least two weeks before your vacation & continue to takefor 2 weeks after. Your local G.P. should be able to give you all the information you require.

There’s no malaria in Egypt. about other countries, mostly in middle African countries
Egypt is free from malaria .
we have medicine over the counter , but you must think of the time you should start your medication before you go to black Africa .
medicine isnt expensive here .
