In fact i don’t quite understand your question. What do you mean by 2nd line of defense?
Be it Pfalciparum, Pvivax, Povale or Pmalariae, although severity differs, body defense against it, will be the same.
Clinically, Pf will be more severe.
If you are worried, then consider chemoprophylaxis eg chloroquine.
