It may be possible, if there are multiple mosquitoes infected with the malarial parasite and you are bitten by one. Also, mosquitoes feeding on multiple victims can pass the parasite (from your brother to you). A high temperature repeatedly, is a signal u may be infected. Get a blood test done to confirm -better safe than sorry! Also use mosquito repellant while sleeping.
