DDT, had it been continued in use, could have wiped out the anopheles mosquito in many areas in Africa, but it was ceased due to its toxic effect.
Not only have the mosquitoes bacome immune to insecticide, but the malarial parasites have become resistant to much of the medication.
Global warming has given rise to slightly warmer, more humid areas in the tropics - Mosquitoes love it.
