Because it is a COMMUNICABLE disease…in other words, you are CONTAGIOUS….AND, we have virtually wipped out Malaria in our country…and sure as heck don’t want to re-introduce it…..
Instead of being shocked..think of it as doing what’s best for the common good….
That seems very strange to me as well. I was always under the impression that you couldn’t get it from normal contact with others, as that is mainly a mosquito-borne illness.
